Does that include adding the resin to the volume of infusing oil you use? I typically add 15% to allow for the resin that has dissolved into the infusing oil. I average 95% of infusing oil used, so, i feel there is another 20% percent there, (adding 15% allowance for the resin). I’ll be experimenting with ways to use the CK220 manual press, 2000 – 3000 lbs capacity. I won’t use any where near capacity, since, theoritically, all the resin has dissolve into the infuing oil. (I use raw unrefined coconut and olive oil. 5:1 ratio).
I use 100 grams of hemp at 16% potency to 422 grams of infusing oil.
The potential infused oil left in the squeezed flower is:: 422 plus 16% of resin and 21 grams left in the plant material after a fine sieve hand press, Total 68+21 = 89. Estimate 90% return after “extreme press”
That’s 80 grams of infused oil extracted.
Is it worth the trouble? Hemp infused oil runs about $15 in cannabis and oil ingredients. THC infused, twice that, $30. Using premium hemp flower or THC, 50$ and $100 cost for flower. Purchasling from grower and dispensary.
Summary, 80 grams is 2.8 ounces.
Hemp $15 cost per ounce, $42 recovered
THC $30 $30 cost per ounce + $84 recovered.
Hemp 400 grams returned with out exteme press worth
